Sampa Dança - ballroom dance annual meeting
www.sampadanca.com.br
Sampa Dança is an annual meeting of ballroom dance professionals and students from Brazil and other parts of the world to discuss the ways dance is taking and to show what's new and different nowadays.
The goal was to concentrate all information about the event in a clear, objective and simple way on the website, and to offer online subscription, so that users could read in-depth information of the programme, and offer another choice of subscribing other than going to the dance schoool only.
The meeting had an extense range of activities and various professionals, so the "x" question was to communicate the great amount of information in a straight-to-the-point language not leading users to confusion. We organized the activities by type and professionals by region. Separate pages described each activity in depth and were linked to the professionals pages and vice-versa.
We also created individual pages for each professional, with their resumés and activities during the meeting, as well as pictures and You Tube videos.
As the event had people from all over Brazil, we created a section with maps of how to get to where it took place, and nearby restaurantes and hotels that supported the event.
Online subscription was made in 4 very easy steps, in which the user chose in advance all activities he/she wanted to participate. There was no online money transaction, but all information was concentrated in a CMS, developed together with Marcelo Soares which managed all subscriptions in a simple and user-friendly interface.
The event was a success and the website was complemented by its good usability. It seems that my cherish for simplicity was rewarded and reached who it aimed for: the user.
